Summer Fun Ice Cream Social

Ice Cream Social is a fun way to cool down or make some money for charity.  I bought the super size sprinkles, ice cream and bowls at Smart & Final.  If you have some small cups with spoons the sprinkles won’t get dumped on one bowl of ice cream like my grandson likes to do.

Surprise Dad with some special cupcakes.  You can find the chocolate football, baseballs, basketballs or soccer balls at most candy stores.  You can use the grass tip and flower sprinkles.  If you want the dirt look, ice with chocolate icing and sprinkle on crushed Nilla wafers to make it look like dirt.  Happy Father’s Day!

Father’s Day Idea – Computer Cake

For the Dad who is into computers make him a computer cake.  For the screen print out your message and enclose it a sheet protector and put it in a folder to stand up as a screen.  Use cardboard inside the folder to stand it up.

When I was growing up we would always get a tie for my Dad.  He would wear it once and then it went into the closet to be never seen again.  These ties were made with a mold I got off the internet and a much sweeter treat for Dad.

Father’s Day Idea – Garden Cake

Garden Cake

Does your dad like to plant a garden?  Why not make him a garden cake.  Very easy to do, ice with mocha buttercream icing and sprinkle crushed Nilla Wafers for the dirt.  The vegetables are made with Fondant.  To make my Mocha buttercream icing I use the basic buttercream but add 2 tablespoons of Hershey cocoa powder, a tablespoon of chocolate extract and two tablespoons of Nesquik.
