I found these little owls today at Michaels.  They make great bases for a flower arrangement.  The fall flowers and picks were also on sale.  They only take a few minutes to put together and are a great decoration for your desk or as a gift.

Nilla Wafer Cookie Sandwich

Nilla Sandwich

These little cookie sandwiches are a great activity for kids of all ages.  Whether they want to make funny faces, pretty flowers, a little butterfly, pretty kitty or a special messages, these little wafers are perfect.  I used a little buttercream icing on the bottom wafer then added the top wafer after I had decorated them.  If you mess up I guess you will just have to eat it to make sure they taste alright and try it again.  These are also great for bake sales or lemonade stands.

Pirate & Mermaid Cake

Today is my granddaughter’s 7th birthday.  She wanted a pirate and mermaid cake.  I found all of the characters at Toys R Us.  The seashells are made out of chocolate.  The sand on the island is crushed Nilla Wafters.  It should be a great party.

Turtle Crunch Brownies

These brownie bites were made with a mini-cupcake pan.  To give my guest a surprise I added a little bit of Turtle Crunch sprinkles I purchased at Michaels.  Everyone gave them a thumbs up rating.

Mad for Minions

minionsI saw these on Pinterest and had to give it a try.  The bodies are twinkies and smarties for the eyes.  The arm and hand was made with a push mold and fondant. The Minion car has a large toothpick that goes through the wheels to hold up the car.  Have fun with these little guys!!!

Doll Houses – Great Family Projects

Doll house projects are a great way to bring the family together.  Over the years we have made over 15 dollhouses for competitions or gifts.  The two above were for my nieces.  Everyone in the family would help out, my husband the builder, I did the painting and decorating.  My children would make things from play dough and help decorate.  It is a lot of work but time we spent together was worth it’s weight in gold!

High Flying Cake

I saw this in a book and decided to try it.  The wing, tail, propeller, and person are made from fondant.  You can bake inside ice cream cones then frost the top.  Use tooth picks to attach the wings and I put some mini marshmallows below the wings for support.
