Two Tier Doll Cake and Matching Cupcakes

I took the Wilton Tier class because when every I started to stack my cakes I always had a problem with the icing coming off when I took the top tier off. The instructor told us to put some confectionary flower before putting the next layer on. Sure enough that solved the problem. I put three straws where the doll will sit. I also put down some plastic wrap under the doll so that no hair will get on the cake. The oversized cupcakes are a meal in themselves. A little layer between then just ice the top and you are ready for your party.

Purse Cake with Sugar Pearls

Fancy Heart Cake with Sugar Sheets

This would make any sweet heart smile. The sugar sheet designs were cut with a cricut cake machine. There are different cartridges that have more designs. If you don’t have a machine you can always use scissor to cut out designs. Apply the sugar sheet when you icing is still moist.

Valentine Trail Mix

My sweet and salty Valentine Trail Mix is made with Mini Nestle Morsels, pretzels, chocolate rice krispies, Gripz graham and chocolate chip pieces, peanuts, candy hearts or suckers. I found the cute little carry out boxes and valentine bags to hold my sweet and salty treats.

Cowgirl Cake and Matching Cupcakes

I found the cowgirl hat and boot candy molds at Orange County Novelty Company. The boot and cow pony are wood already painted pieces from Michaels. I put plastic food wrap on the back of these before putting them on the cake. To make sure they wouldn’t stick to the icing when they are removed I sprinkled a little powdered sugar. These cake and cupcake is for a surprise party tonight. Hopefully these will make this cowgirl smile.

Flower Pot Cake For Your Valentine

Surprise your Valentine with a flower pot cake. The larger flower pot holds an entire cake which is baked separately and layer each two inches with a layer of cake then frosting until you have filled the pot. The smaller flower pot has a cupcake. Ice the top with buttercream using the grass tip and make some candy melt flowers.

Hello Kitty Duck Tape Purse

This is a great craft project for kids. I purchased the wood purse at Michaels then covered with the Duck Tape. There is all type of unfinished wood projects that you could use this on. Best of all there is no paint clean up and who doesn’t like Hello Kitty!

Making Dragon Eggs

To make dragon eggs chip out a small hole and use a knife to cut the yolk. Soak the egg is an Antibacterial bath. Once the egg has dried coat the egg with fingernail polish before you start to cut the opening for your dragon. I used paint and very fine glitter on the inside and two coats of nail polish on the out side. The last coat I used crackle/shredded nail polish to give it the cracked appearance.

Valentine Bundt Cakes

All Girl Cake

This cake was made for one of the ladies in my office who is always dressed in the latest fashion. So with my candy molds I made the candy to accent this cake along with sugar pearls and silver sugar and a glass slipper. She loved the cake.

Heart Chocolate Candy Boxes

Now is the time to order your candy box mold in order to get it in time for Valentine’s Day. The first time I purchase the heart box mold I quickly found out I should have ordered two. My first order was for 20 boxes. Making them one at a time was crazy. I purchased the box mold from KitchenKraft.com. They also have a rose box mold, butterfly box mold, and other holiday box molds. Another popular mold is the heart sucker molds.

Chocolate Chip Muffins

Last night I had my two grandchildren over for a slumber party while their parents went out to a play. Milena and Dorian love to decorate cupcakes and their faces fell when I didn’t bake any. I did make a batch of chocolate chip cupcakes for breakfast. They knew exactly what to do and were all of the sprinkles and piping bags were. In no time at all my kitchen was knee deep in sugar and they were having a ball. Milena found my gum paste butterflies that I had dried out for another project. I showed her how to use the gel food coloring and clear vanilla extract to paint the butterflies. She did great for her first time painting butterflies. Dorian was all about just plain white icing and tons of sprinkles on top. We all had a great time and I’m ready to go back to bed. I’ll tackle the kitchen later.

Craft Umbrellas

I purchased these craft umbrellas at Oriental Trading Company. I used fabric markers and some little gems to decorate the umbrellas. My grandson is a train nut and my granddaughter likes lots of bling.
