This little race car was made with two cupcakes, some fondant and Nilla Wafer for wheels. The little boy was made with fondant. I used a grass tip for the hair. Cut a gumdrop for the steering wheel and head lights. This little free form race car is ready for the road.
These hearts have a fun surprise inside. Gripz are tiny like chocolate chip cookies. They are no bigger than your pinky finger nail but they are full of flavor and fun to use on cakes, cupcake and even chocolate hearts. Start with a deep heart mold, paint the sides of the mold with milk chocolate and freeze for 5 minutes. Take them out and fill with the tiny little cookies then cover with milk chocolate and freeze for 10 minutes. Enjoy the look on your friends face when they find these crunchy little treats inside.
This Hot Air Balloon cake was made in an 1982 Wilton pan I found at the local thrift shop. With this new pan to my collection (75+ pans) the sky is the limit.
This new doughnut pan I purchased at Michaels. I have also seen it at JoAnn craft stores. It’s great for doughnuts but also for brownies as shown here. See what you can do with it, there is endless possibilities.
These brownie pops were made in a Silicone flower pan. Once your brownies are out of the oven and cool, insert the stick then take it out and pipe in a little bit of icing in the hole then reinsert the stick. This will help hold in the stick. Decorate the flower and you are ready to serve.
Lightning McQueen is always a great cake for any Cars fan. With a lot of character cakes it is hard to write out Happy Birthday, so I made some little checkered flags with the writing on them. Make sure you use “no taste red” gel food coloring to get the body of the car that bright red color.
The next time you make chocolate chip cookies try putting them in a silicone mold. The shape will hold and you can decorate with a little bit of buttercream icing for a sweet treat.
These mini tarts are made with puff pastry in a mini cupcake pan. Roll the dough out and cut circles and put in cupcake pan. Add your favorite fruit filling and I put a small puff pastry heart on the top.
Dusted with powdered sugar and a little bit of buttercream lemons and leaves and this lemon loaf cake is ready for your morning coffee.
These were made with silicone pans and just the thing to bring a smile to your Valentine’s face.
The flowers on the cake above are made from fondant. I purchased the class book at JoAnns then ended up taking the class. You can make these ahead of time using gum paste or fondant. They are easy and really add to the beauty of your cake.
I can’t believe Christmas is over and they are putting out Valentine Day stuff. Naturally I had to check out to see if they had anything new. I found the lip sucker mold at Michaels Craft store.
